New custom country residence, Southeast, New York

This new 2,500 sf home was the result of a close working relationship between designer and owner. The desire was for a country home evoking childhood memories of the owner ’s grandparent ’s country home. Partners for Architecture was instrumental in creating a home that helped tie the past, present and future of this family.

   

Addition and alteration of existing residence, Goldens Bridge, New York

Located in Goldens Bridge, New York this country residence consisted of a 1960's single level ranch style house with a finished basement and two-car garage. The Owner's program was to add a new garage, two bedrooms and bathroom, an office and a third level master bedroom suite with cathedral ceiling.        

 

Interior renovations of master bathroom and kitchen, Stamford, Connecticut

With the kitchen and master bathroom being in desperate need for renovation, the opportunity was taken to redesign and reconfigure those spaces to create an entirely new spatial experience above and beyond updated fixtures and millwork tailored into and around the confinements of the existing building.

   

Façade renovation and Library addition, Stamford, Connecticut

The Owner, a contractor, wanted to enhance the curb presence and look of his split level ranch residence, so we added stone, stucco and wood shingles on the exterior, combined with a round library addition around the existing fire place, a new entrance and a covered colonnade.  Extensive use of thin set veneer stone, an economical alternative to using regular 4 ” veneer stone, combined with stucco finished surfaces completely transformed the appeal and presence of this residence. The rear -and more private-side of the building received a large deck opening from an intimate “court ” that was created by an addition to the master bedroom, accessible from sliding French doors off the remodeled kitchen.

                                      

Addition and alteration of existing residence, Stamford, Connecticut

Located in Stamford, Connecticut, the Mazzeo Residence was an existing ranch with the owners looking to add a Master Bedroom Suite and a new Family Room and Eating Area, which would work in conjunction with the existing kitchen plan. There were interior revisions to the plan in order to provide a more open plan and create a flow, which seamlessly united the new and existing spaces. On the lower level there were Laundry and Workout Rooms created.

   

New luxury multi-family development, Stamford, Connecticut

This multi-residential development on Maple Tree Avenue in Stamford consists of 8 residential units, each of them amply sized at 2,200 sf and grouped in a village type setting with pedestrian friendly circulation and access. The client emphasized a dense development and maximum use of the site.  Our challenge consisted of tranforming this density into a pleasant environment, providing a high quality of living.

   

Environmentally conscious addition and renovation, Stamford, Connecticut

The Owner requested special attention to environmental design and materials, so this addition of a 2nd floor to an existing residence featured a green roof on the south side, integrated solar photovoltaics (PV), passive solar heat gain and active ventilation through a roof lantern, as well as sustainable, recycled and VOC free finish materials.
